Last Monday, we had the joy of bringing together 22 local retailers and town partners for one of our regular Experience Middlebury gatherings—this time hosted so generously by Edgewater Gallery on Mill Street (aka Frog Hollow). Our heartfelt thanks to Shaena and Ryan for opening their doors, and deep gratitude for this thoughtful, creative, and collaborative community we’re lucky to work alongside. It was wonderful to be in the room with friends and collaborators from Town Hall Theater, Swift House, Little Seed, Stone Mill, the Middlebury Film Festival, Flora, Adagio and more—sharing ideas, talking shop, and simply connecting as people who care deeply about Middlebury.
These gatherings are something we host quarterly because they matter. They give busy business owners a chance to meet one another, build trust, share information, discuss new ideas, and move forward together—stronger and more connected. This month we talked about the up-coming film festival in the summer, placement of new garbage bins, street lighting and snow clearing. These issues are all important, and topics we are able to help highlight during our first Friday monthly morning meetings with the Town manager Mark Pruhenski and team. Watch this space for news of our new aesthetically pleasing garbage/recycling bins to be installed for Spring, made possible by the District Improvement District Commission (DIDC) funding.
Our next quarterly business gathering is scheduled for 4th of May at the Stone Mill. If you are a retailer/Middlebury organisation and are currently not included on our invitation list, please reach us either through Instagram or email us at [email protected]
