The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival returns August 26–30, bringing five days of outstanding independent cinema, thought-provoking conversations, and creative energy to downtown Middlebury. We just LOVE this new image to celebrate MNFF’s the 12th year. It’s a full Sturgeon moon on the 27th and 28th of August this year, ensuring an extra-special moon glow to this much-loved event…

As ever, the festival welcomes emerging and established filmmakers from around the world, transforming our town into a vibrant gathering place for storytellers, film lovers, and curious minds. We sat down with some of the team last week, and they shared some of the highlights with us. From feature films and documentaries to shorts, panels, and special events, the festival offers a unique opportunity to experience the power of film while enjoying the charm, hospitality, and community spirit that make Middlebury such a special place.

Whether you’re a devoted cinephile or simply looking for an inspiring late-summer experience, the New Filmmakers Festival is one of the cultural highlights of the Vermont calendar. We love it so much, we move to town for the duration, as we don’t want to miss a minute of the “action, lights, camera!”  🎬🍿
