Check out some of the events happening in Middlebury in November!

November 5-14
10-Day, $35K Giveaway

Shop in Bristol, Middlebury, and Vergennes between November 5-14. On random days and times, customers will be awarded an envelope containing Bristol Bucks, Vergennes Green, and Middlebury Money that can be used for shopping and dining in all three towns. Purchase is required to receive an envelope. A total of $35,000 will be distributed over the 10-day program.

Middlebury Farmers Market
The Middlebury Farmers’ Market (MFM) is a year round Market with over 50 registered members. The Market normally operates as an inside market from November – April and offers an outdoor season from May – October.

Online Exhibit: “Drawing on the Past”
The Henry Sheldon Museum presents the online exhibit “Drawing on the Past” by Miriam Adams. The Sheldon’s website includes a virtual tour of the exhibit with Miriam Adams and Bill Brooks, Executive Director of the Sheldon. All drawings in the exhibit are featured online.

A Neighbor Project: The Downtown Middlebury Portrait by Rebecca Kinkead (Virtual Exhibit)
The Downtown Middlebury Portrait includes over a hundred 7 x 5-inch oil portraits of local community members created during twenty-minute portrait sessions throughout the town.

November 5, 12 & 19
The Sewing Lab
The Makery at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center offers the use of their sewing machines, tools, and tables for your projects. Limit of 4 participants; pre-registration is required.

Tool Training
The Woodworking Lab at the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center’s tool training class, a prerequisite for new participants to use the Woodworking Lab. Limit of 6 participants; pre-registration is required.

MCCFC Virtual – La Stada
Zoom Discussion of the film La Strada (1954), Federico Fellini’s classic Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film.

November 6
Gilbert Kalish, Piano
Performing works by Crumb, Schubert, and Brahms, Kalish will be joined by soprano Lisette Oropesa, clarinetist David Shifrin, violinist Nicolas Dautricourt, violist Paul Neubauer, and cellist Torleif Thedéen.

The Hirschfield International Film Series Presents: We Are Little Zombies
Virtual cinema screening

November 13
Jupiter Quartet Performs Michi Wiancko, George Walker, and Mendelsson, Presented by the Middlebury Performing Art Series
The Jupiter String Quartet is presented for the ninth time by the Middlebury Performing Arts Series. This year’s online performance was recorded at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where the ensemble has been artists-in-residence since 2012.

Pre-Holiday Artist Market
Bundle presents an outdoor pre-holiday Artist Market to help you get a jump start on your list. Shop unique food and gift items from Vermont Makers along the parking area of Merchants Row while also supporting small local businesses in the downtown.

Sheldon Presents: Talk by Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Curator
The Henry Sheldon Museum invites you to its VIRTUAL meeting featuring special guest speaker Dorothy Moss, curator of painting and sculpture at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery and coordinating curator of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative.
