What a busy August it’s been for Middlebury! Foodaroo 10 was one for the books. The crowd brought such great energy—families, friends, and neighbors filled the streets and soaked in the incredible entertainment on a perfect late-summer evening. Middlebury truly showed up, and the vibes were nothing short of electric ( thanks Ted, Serena and Zach Nugent’s Dead Set, who kept us rocking!) A heartfelt thank-you to the Foodaroo team ( yes, that’s YOU, Andy) for the months of hard work and planning that went into this hugely popular event. And to everyone who performed, volunteered, cooked, served, poured, or simply came out to join the fun—you’re what makes this community so special.
The buzz of the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival lit up our town once again—five days, over 100 films, and a record number of tickets sold! This annual celebration has become a true highlight of the summer, bringing together international and local filmmakers with audiences eager to experience fresh stories on the big screen. It’s not just about the films—it’s about the community, the conversations, and the energy it brings downtown. We are so grateful for this event that showcases Middlebury at its very best, and one we’ve grown to love and deeply appreciate.
In other news, we cheered on pups in the Ilsley library Dog Days of Summer parade, wandered the Mid-Stroll Art Walk, and found bargains over the weekend of the Labor Day Sidewalk Sale. It’s been a long, hot and busy summer, and the energy continues with Fall on our doorstep!
