This September, for the first time ever, ACORN is bringing the Tour de Farms to Middlebury, Vermont. Riders will set off and return to the Middlebury Rec Field, a place that not only offers sweeping views of the shire town of Addison County but also sits close to ACORN’s roots and our new Food Hub. It feels like the perfect homecoming.

A Ride Through Farmland and Flavor

The 2025 Tour has been fine-tuned with one important promise: fewer hills, more food. Riders will pedal along beautiful back roads, cross an iconic covered bridge, and visit farms in Middlebury, Weybridge, Cornwall, and Salisbury. At each stop, local producers will be waiting with something delicious to taste—apples, cheese, dairy, veggies, baked goods, and more.

And because we know you’ll want to take a little piece of Addison County home, you can stock up along the way. Don’t worry about carrying everything on your bike—ACORN have a farm van to collect your purchases and deliver them back to the finish line.

And when you finish your ride, don’t forget to swing by the Experience Middlebury pop-up market, run by the Better Middlebury Partnership, where local vendors and makers will be set up to keep the celebration (and the shopping) going strong, with live music and Ted Richards from 92.1 Radio keeping the vibes alive!

Why It Matters

The Tour isn’t just a bike ride. It’s a fundraiser for ACORN and a celebration of everything Addison County farms bring to our tables. It’s about seeing where our food comes from, meeting the people who grow it, and supporting a resilient, local food system—all while enjoying a Vermont fall day with friends, neighbors, and fellow riders.
