What an absolutely spooktacular day in downtown Middlebury. On Sunday, the heart of our town filled with laughter, costumes, candy, and community spirit as approximately 800 children and families joined us for this yearâs Halloween celebration.
From the moment the first tiny ghost and superhero arrived, the joy was contagious. Nancie Dunn from Sweet Cecily led our beloved Spooktacular Parade, weaving through downtown with waves of color, creativity, and laughter. The Gazebo and Triangle Parkâbeautifully âspookifiedâ with friendly ghosts, cobwebs, and pumpkinsâbecame the perfect stage for games, toys, and photo ops.
We were honored to have so many community partners join in the fun: an extra special mention to:Â
- Shawâs Supermarket, our generous event sponsor! So Grateful.
-
Captain Dave Shaw of the Middlebury Fire Department and his team, and our Middlebury Police Forceâthank you for keeping everyone safe and smiling…YOU ARE AMAZING!
-
The Middlebury Fencing Club, who wowed with their playful demonstrations.
- Hannafords, who came out in full festive spirit.
-
Wyatt, with his unforgettable skeleton vehicle that turned heads all morning. We’ve already booked him for next year! Thanks, Wyatt.
-
Ted Richards and Spencer from Radio 92.1, who kept the tunes and energy flowing- we couldn’t do it without you!
-
St. Stephenâs Church, for adding their warmth and community presence–and being so understanding as Monster Mash was blasting at 11.00am as church was coming out…we are so grateful for your understanding.
- Dennis Benoit with his fabulous red 1977 GMC Truck at Cannon Park ( thanks for the pumpkin bread treats, DB!)
- Photographer Caleb Kenna capturing the fun for us
- Marble Trail and their WONDERFUL WIZARD of OZ scene…breathtaking!
- The Ilsley Library team with their VERY HUNGRY Caterpillar!
A special thank-you to all our downtown businesses and organizations who handed out treats and to those who helped decorate, and to every volunteer who made the day run smoothlyâ(The Flynn Family turned out IN FORCE, thank you!!) from the candy stations to the fire department for helping along the parade route.
This event captures the best of Middlebury: neighbors coming together, families celebrating, and local partners working hand in hand to make something magical happen. Weâll be sharing photo galleries and reels throughout the week, so stay tuned on Experience Middleburyâs Instagram and Facebook for all the highlights.
đ» From the bottom of our candy-filled heartsâthank you, Middlebury!
You made Spooktacular 2025 one for the books.
