FIRST FRIDAY IS TONIGHT. 🎉
Back in February, when we launched First Fridays in the middle of a Vermont winter, there were probably a few people who thought we were just a little bit unhinged.
A downtown celebration? In February? On a Friday night? In the snow?
But something wonderful happened.
People showed up.
Businesses opened their doors. Musicians said yes. Artists joined in. Neighbors lingered a little longer. New partnerships formed. Unexpected collaborations began to take shape. What started as an idea has steadily grown into something much bigger—a community tradition that seems to be taking on a life of its own.
Each month has added another layer. Another business staying open late. Another musician on a porch. Another gallery opening. Another conversation between people who may never have met otherwise.
And now, here we are in June.
The weather is beautiful. The patios and decks are full. The Henry Sheldon museum is buzzing. The Town Hall Theater plaza is alive with music. Shops are staying open late. There are special menus, pop-ups, gallery talks, cocktails, karaoke, and plenty of opportunities to bump into friends, neighbors, students, visitors, and familiar faces.
What we love most isn’t any single event—it’s the feeling that downtown belongs to all of us. That people are creating experiences together. That businesses are supporting one another. That every month brings something a little different and a little unexpected!
So come downtown tonight. Wander. Explore. Stay later than you planned. Discover something new. Say hello to someone you know.
And if you’ve been part of this growing First Friday story since those chilly February evenings—thank you.
Summer First Fridays have officially arrived, and we have a lot more fun in store.
