Everyone is invited to "LIGHTEN UP!" - Middlebury's annual lantern parade. Bring a lantern or any kind of light to the Marbleworks Riverfront Park and join your family, friends, and neighbors in a beautiful procession of light around the falls. This family friendly, do-it-yourself event is free and open to the public. No open flames please! There might be music. There might be art. There will be light and fun. We will walk around the falls: across the footbridge, Mill Street, Frog Hollow Alley, Main Street, Printer's Alley. Join the crowd anywhere around the route and make your own parade!
Fast, Scenic Course, both 5K and 10K races begin in the country and end in the town. There are a lot of give-aways & prizes, including 20 fresh turkeys! Medals are awarded too (we use timing chips for each runner)! Check-in and Day of Registration begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. At 11:40 a.m. all runners will be transported by bus from the gym to their starting point. All buses will leave at the same time. The event starts at NOON.
This is also a FOOD DRIVE to benefit HOPE -- participants are encouraged to bring two or more non-perishable food items or make a cash donation to HOPE to be entered into a special drawing for prizes. $3.00 from each registration is donated to HOPE to help stock the local food shelf!
