Earlier in my career I had the opportunity to work with someone who was a natural-born leader. He was always capable and always willing to tackle what ever needed to be done. He had vision and hustle and two very important attributes that are rarely discussed together with respect to success – (1)he was fearless; and (2)he was never confused. Of course, that does not mean he was always correct or didn’t have questions but in the moment in any situation he always had a plan and knew what the next step needed to be.
As an entrepreneur these two attributes can be very empowering. If you are on a sales call or pitching some potential investors or developing strategy with your team try to incorporate this approach. Be fearless because the alternative simply isn’t much use in today’s business environment. Time is an incredibly valuable resource – don’t waste it by not being fearless. Additionally, if you have done the work, prepared yourself to the best of your ability and really want to inspire the people around you there is no reason to be confused either.
